Earlier this week, Houlihan Lawrence hosted over 60 of our own agents as well agents from prestigious brokerages exclusively affiliated with Christie’s International Real Estate. The backdrop for the networking breakfast was Will O’Woods, a stunning 45 acre setting highlighted by a 1930′s era Art-Deco home overlooking a private 8 acre lake in Croton-on-Hudson, listed by David Turner of our Bedford Brokerage.
The morning event began with a tour of the estate, followed by an alfresco breakfast by the lake catered by Bedford Gourmet. Stephen Meyers, CEO of Houlihan Lawrence, welcomed the crowd by saying, “Real Estate is often viewed as local. We agree. But it’s also about relationships that transcend boundaries.”
An impressive line-up of speakers followed, discussing the uptick in the New York City luxury market and how that affected the marketing of luxury homes in our area. Among the speakers were Anthony Cutugno, Sr Vice President, Luxury Country Properties of Houlihan Lawrence, Peter Marra, Executive Vice President of Brown Harris Stevens, New York City, David Ogilvy, Broker/Owner of David Ogilvy & Associates, Greenwich, CT, and Kathy Coumou, Vice President of Christie’s International Real Estate.
Following the discussion of the luxury market, the agents had the opportunity to network with one another. Not all buyers are local, so it is important for agents to build ties with their peers from neighboring marketing areas to maximize exposure for their listings and to be able to place referrals with confidence.
