Just a few weeks remain before summer ends. Many spend these lazy, hazy days of summer on vacation. If a vacation is not in your immediate future, here are a few ideas that can transport you into a vacation state of mind.

Let you imagination decide if your waterfront picnic is in Maine or Mamaroneck.

If a little bit of Hollywood is on your wish list, The Bedford Post Inn is your ticket. Owner Richard Gere might be at the next table, or Ralph Lauren could be breaking bread in the dining room. The New York papers are abuzz with chatter that the Clintons have an accepted offer on an $11 million estate in Bedford Hills.
