For centuries, the Hudson River region has endured as one of America’s greatest natural treasures and continues to be sought-after today for its majesty and natural beauty.  At the end of the 19th century and early 20th century, some of the area’s most magnificent homes rose along the river, built by the era’s social and business elite who came to the area as a respite from their busy lives in New York City.

Astor Courts in Rhinebeck was originally part of the John Jacob Astor IV vast Hudson River estate Ferncliff and sits on 50+ riverfront acres centered by a 1906 Stanford White-designed Beaux Arts pavilion.

La Paz in Scarborough is another architectural treasure, a stone country house built in 1917 by celebrated architect, Bertram Goodhue, known for his many important projects including St. Bartholomew’s Church in Manhattan.

Ogden Park in Dobbs Ferry was one of three stone houses built by Elizabeth Ogden Bradley Bystrom, one of the first female physicians in the country. Ms. Bystrom built the homes for herself and two sisters and sited them high on a bluff overlooking the Hudson.
